Cedar and horsehair both do a specific mechanical job that a spray-on product cannot: cedar pulls moisture out of leather slowly overnight, and a stiff natural bristle lifts dried dirt out of a weave instead of just smearing it. Plastic-bristle brushes and synthetic shoe trees do a version of the same thing, but they wear smooth and stop gripping within a season, where a horsehair brush keeps its texture for years of ordinary use.

Natural Bristle Cleaning Brush Set

Three brushes at 18, 24 and 32 cm, beechwood handles, tampico and horsehair bristles matched to the job each length is meant for — the short one for grout and seams, the middle for counters and tile, the long-handled one for baseboards and the occasional shower wall.
